BEMT Continuous Spray Sunscreen

Weightless Broad-Spectrum Protection With BEMT

Bring a BEMT sunscreen to market. InSpec Solutions formulates and fills bemotrizinol (BEMT) — GRASE for US sunscreen at up to 6% and the first new US filter in over two decades — as a bag-on-valve continuous spray, the only continuous-spray format the FDA order allows for BEMT. Customizable formula and SPF target, scalable to retail volume.

The product story

A broad-spectrum sunscreen built around bemotrizinol (BEMT), the first new UV filter added to the US sunscreen list in more than two decades. BEMT absorbs across both UVB and UVA and is photostable, so protection holds up in the sun instead of breaking down. As a continuous spray it goes on in a light, even mist — no rubbing in, no white cast, and it sprays at any angle, including upside down.

The formula sits in a sealed bag inside the can, so it never mixes with propellant, which is what lets a BEMT sunscreen spray at all under the FDA order. That keeps the mist light and consistent across arms, legs, and shoulders, with the fast-drying, non-greasy feel a spray format is chosen for. BEMT can run on its own or alongside zinc oxide and other permitted filters for brands that want a hybrid system.

Variations we can develop

  • SPF target across the range, confirmed by SPF testing
  • BEMT alone or paired with zinc oxide and other permitted filters
  • Scented, unscented, and kids' positioning, subject to claims review
  • Lotion and stick sister SKUs for a full SPF family

Packaging formats we can run

  • Bag-on-valve can
  • Continuous-spray actuator
  • Overcap where specified
